Koyukuk River Moose Hunting

Welcome to Koyukuk river guide service located in North central Alaska, North of Yukon River, South of the artic circle in a Athabasican native village of Huslia.
Huslia  is located with in the 4,000,000 acre, Koyukuk National Wildlife Refuge (KNWR) 275 Miles from Fairbanks .
This extensive floodplain lies within a forested basin surrounded by hills and low rolling mountains

forests of spruce, birch and aspen gradually merges with tundra at elevations of 3,000 feet.

With extensive wetlands, comes countless lakes, sloughs and tributaries of the Koyukuk River that meanders for more then 400 miles through the refuge because of the natural geological conditions, it is widely known for it's moose population which exceeds 11,000+, with a moose population this high it is know wonder that each and every year record book animals are harvested here!
 
If you have hunted other areas of Alaska and are yet to harvest that above average moose or just trying to fulfill that once and a lifetime dream hunt, then this is without question the place to be in September!        
And who better then native Alaskan, master guide Fred Bifelt with life long knowledge of this area he calls home. With his vast credentials including biologist degree from the university of Alaska  and costarring roll as a guide in "Monster Moose of the Koyukuk" which was nationally sold in the late 90's to today.

Book early as all tags for the Koyukuk wildlife refuge are draw only and must be submitted from November 6th to December 6th of each year.  Over the counter tags are available for the surrounding units, which also produces excellent harvest averages.
